Project Description

In 2018, the Feminist Library was established in the spaces of the former Women’s Bookshop in Florence at Via Fiesolana 2b, thanks to the commitment of the Fiesolana 2b association.
The library is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm (or by appointment), with a closure in August.
The association not only manages the library but also promotes a wide range of cultural activities: it organizes meetings, workshops, and programs dedicated to gender issues, self-awareness, and self-determination. Among the activities offered are writing courses, art history courses, exhibitions, book presentations, and much more.
The Feminist Library is not just a place for consultation and lending, but a true permanent laboratory: a living and shared space where experiences, ideas, and journeys intertwine. Here, women of different generations, cultural backgrounds, and educational levels meet, often seeking a space where feminism can be lived, discussed, and practiced in everyday life.
It is an open, inclusive, and constantly evolving place, where culture becomes a tool for awareness and transformation.
