Project Description

La disciplina della terra di Firenze is a Libera solidarity shop in the heart of Florence, managed by the social promotion association Le Discipline. It sells Libera Terra products, the fruit of the labor of the agricultural cooperatives of the Libera Terra Consortium that manage land confiscated from the mafia.
The shelves feature pasta, cereals, baked goods, pureed vegetables, oil, chocolate, jams, honey, and wine, all certified organic. Iconic Libera merchandise, such as T-shirts, bags, and notebooks, is also available.
Beyond their quality, these products represent a concrete response to mafia oppression, supporting workers’ rights and sourcing high-quality, certified supply chains, thus restoring opportunities to local communities.
History
The shop opened in 2013 and is run by an intergenerational group of volunteers. The shop, in addition to being a place of legality, is also a meeting place, a place for raising awareness, and the organization of solidarity initiatives. It is also the headquarters of the Le Discipline Association, which manages the business.
The Le Discipline Association, founded in 2016 and a member of Libera, promotes active citizenship practices and is the operational arm of Libera Toscana in its local activities.
